President Mohamed Nasheed is visiting Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu for the next two days to launch a housing and waste disposal project.
The president will also attend an agricultural seminar in Thinadhoo this evening.

The equipments that were given to Thinadhoo and some other islands were actually promised before to be given to Alif Alif, Alif Dhal, Thaa, Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu and Dhaalu atolls, and especially South Ari Atoll. The government went against the aid plan given by European Union and World Bank. This is a stunt to please the community of Thinadhoo. People, please be aware. I call Minivan news to investigate the corruption that had happened in this project because of officials at Environment Ministry and Presidents Office. The project was implemented by EPA, but at the latest stage they were just ordered to keep aside. The equipments were made duty free saying they were tsunami related and were from a grant. But after duty freeing the president gave it to companies. This is also corruption.
