Police fines 1927 persons for smoking in prohibited areas

Police have fined 1927 persons for smoking in prohibited areas between August 31 and September 6, according to a statement on their official website.

Under the Tobacco Control Act, persons who smoke in prohibited locations can be fined an amount of MVR500.
